Alaa Oumansour is a Senior Director with the Performance Improvement Practice in Alvarez & Marsal based in Dubai.
Mr. Oumansour has 15+ years of experience in management consulting focusing on corporate finance, growth strategies and cost improvements. His primary areas of concentration are performance review and improvement, commercial turnarounds, and cost optimization, particularly in the areas of sales & marketing,finance, and technology. He has advised clients in Telecommunications, IT, Media and FMCG, with sizes ranging from USD 100M to USD 100B+, in the GCC, Middle East, Africa and North America. 
 
He has also worked in various emerging and developed markets,and is lately focusing on the Middle East and Africa.
 
Key projects led by Mr. Oumansour include:
 
–Optimization and implementation of revenue allocation methodology for a global KSA based telecom operator, to reduce tax exposure by ~$1bn yearly
 
–Support national transformation program to reduce reliance on oil, and create new economic growth avenues in KSA
 
–Structuring of $500m+ partnership model between satellite manufacturer and investors; managed building of business case and advised on capital structure, ownership models and supported vendor negotiation
 
–Carve-out of $5bn of fixed assets from a large telecom operator, designed the joint-venture and led the first strategic and business planning cycle for the newly created entity across the Middle East and Africa
 
–Creation and implementation of commercial growth strategies for emerging markets telecom operators leading to revenue and operating profit increase by 10%-20%
 
–Design and implementation of sales effectiveness strategy and change management for $10bn+ technology firm leading to 5% improvement in sales productivity over 2 quarters
 
Before joining A&M, Mr. Oumansour was with Booz & Company, where he consulted for clients in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, North America and Europe. Prior to this, he was with a Deutsche Bank, TDC Switzerland and Nokia in multiple geographies (Mexico, Guatemala,Australia and New Zealand).
