Adam Richards is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal in San Francisco. He specializes in Architecture and Large Systems Design. His/her primary areas of concentration are Enterprise Architecture, Cloud Migration, Highly-Available and Scalable Systems Design.

With more than 25 years of Industry experience, Adam has a wealth of varied experience from operating system coding and performance engineering at IBM, via architecting secure Internet commerce at Schwab and ubiquitous messaging at JPMC, to executive management of new media operations at Yahoo! and InterActive Corp (IAC).

Adam joined A&M in June 2017, prior to that he has worked with clients in financial services, media, and hardware and software. While at IBM he was frequently called into consult with transportation, health, government and finance companies.  

Immediate prior to joining A&M, Adam spent 4 years with IAC’s Publishing Group in Oakland, where he most recently served as the CIO. He was responsible for turning the IT group into a global service bureau providing services to multiple internal businesses (Ask.com, Dictionary.com, About.com, Investopedia, PriceRunner and Ask.fm) first using internal resource clouds and then migrating it all into an external cloud to increase the flexibility of the cost structure.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering science from Oxford University which also awarded him a master of arts.
