One of the world’s top ten financial institutions sought to review the IT organization and services processes for its US-based business operations. The client was considering a full range of organizational models to create a unified suite of services, performance metrics and cost efficiencies. A&M experts collected and organized the relevant data and provided a roadmap for internal (shared services) and external (outsourcing) realignment of the bank’s IT operations. The resulting Shared Services organization yielded improvements in agility, alignment, and costs including organizational changes to accelerate integration and accountability, adoption of a service catalog for common services, rationalization of third-party services contracting, adoption of policies for third-party risk management and realignment of the operating footprint.  Taken together, these actions reduced risk, improved compliance status, and allowed a 25% reduction in operating costs.
