A national propane and construction products distributor hired A&M to identify opportunities to reduce fleet operating costs while maintaining or improving the quality of the delivery service. A&M identified and managed initiatives to improve private fleet utilization, fuels distribution efficiency and costs, customer cost-to-serve and profitability, distribution systems and processes, and reporting and performance metrics.
In total, A&M identified more than 15% in potential annual savings for fuel delivery operations. The client reports implementation of new KPIs has changed employee behaviors to rely on fact-based rather than opinion-based assessments of worker technology. The client has already saved 1.5% of annual operating costs (and recouped 100% of A&M’s fees) by executing an initiative to improve fleet asset utilization within 6 months of the original assessment and initiatives to address other opportunity areas are underway.
