Beth Devin Brings Technology Strategy, Development and Operations Leadership

SAN FRANCISCO – Leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has added former Chief Information Officer (CIO) and IT executive Beth Devin, enhancing the firm’s expertise in technology services. She joins as a Managing Director based in San Francisco where she will focus on expanding the firm’s growth throughout the West coast.

With more than 30 years of technology strategy, development and operations leadership experience, Ms. Devin has held CIO and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) roles in public and private enterprises, including Silicon Valley Bank where she served as CIO. She specializes in improving information technology performance, digital solutions and platforms, cloud adoption and CIO advisory services.

Beth is equipped to help our clients across multiple industries partake in effective and game-changing IT transformation.”

Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Devin was CIO of Silicon Valley Bank where she led an IT transformation supporting the bank’s global expansion, new products and services and business growth.  While there, she launched an innovative digital program to deliver high-touch commercial banking services. She was also accountable for a significant technology investment portfolio and advocated for critical infrastructure stability and scalability initiatives.

Ms. Devin previously served as CTO at Hearst Corporation’s, and Blackhawk Network, and before that, held several technology leadership positions at the Charles Schwab Corporation, including CIO for the Retail Brokerage, Schwab Bank and Investment Advisor enterprises. It was there that she led the “one customer” strategy and customer relationship management (CRM) initiatives for the branch,, call center, interactive voice response (IVR) and email channels.  Earlier in her career, Ms. Devin held technology positions at Turner Broadcasting Systems, Pacific Bell and Bechtel Petroleum.

Ms. Devin earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from San Francisco State University. She is a member of the International Women’s Forum and a board trustee for the Freedom from Hunger non-profit organization.
