Hoo Ming Trading Co. Ltd., Chalwood Forest Products Ltd. and of certain lands of Tsan-Fa Wang
On March 27, 2013, the Supreme Court of British Columbia (the “Court”) made an order appointing Alvarez & Marsal Canada Inc. (“A&M”) as receiver and manager (the “Receiver”) without security, of all of the assets, undertakings and properties of Hoo Ming Trading Co. Ltd. (“Hoo Ming”) and Chalwood Forest Products Ltd. (“Chalwood”) and all of the right, title and interest of Tsan-Fa Wang in and to lands and premises legally prescribed as Port Alberni Assessment Area, Parcel Identifier 024-203-050, Lot C District Lot 90 Alberni District Plan VIP67476 pursuant to section 243(1) of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, R.S.C. 1985, c. B-3 and section 39 of the Law and Equity Act, R.S.B.C. 1996 c. 253.
On April 24, 2014, the Court pronounced an order granting the Receiver the authority to assign Hoo Ming and Chalwood (collectively, the “Companies”) into bankruptcy and on May 13, 2014, the Receiver filed voluntary assignments in bankruptcy on behalf of the Companies and A&M was appointed trustee (the “Trustee”), subject to affirmation by the creditors of the Companies at the first meeting of creditors held on May 28, 2014.
