Art Barrios Joins Alvarez & Marsal Business Consulting as a Senior Director in New York

New York, NY - Alvarez & Marsal announced that former PricewaterhouseCoopers' managing director, Art Barrios, has joined as a senior director in its New York-based Business Consulting practice.
Mr. Barrios will concentrate on expanding the group's capabilities for insurance and financial services organizations with regards to IT effectiveness, IT program management, business process management and data management and analytics.
"Art has worked with clients on a wide variety of strategic initiatives to reduce costs and drive business value," said Anthony Treccapelli, managing director with Alvarez & Marsal and head of the firm's National Information Technology Solutions team. "With almost two decades of IT management and advisory experience he will serve as a critical resource as we expand our services targeting insurance and financial organizations in New York and across the country."
Mr. Barrios works with clients to align their business and technology objectives by defining IT strategies, prioritizing initiatives, evaluating workforce skills, defining governance models, developing solution architectures, managing large-scale business transformation and systems integrations projects and measuring the business value of technology investments.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Barrios was a managing director with the financial services advisory practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers and previously served as a partner at BusinessEdge Solutions, where he led the cross-industry business process management and data management practices. Earlier in his career, he served as a managing director at BearingPoint in the financial services technology practice.
Mr. Barrios earned a bachelor's degree in accounting with a concentration in computer science and a master's degree in business administration with a concentration in management information systems from Rutgers University.
