Opportunities: Research Credit and Incentive Services - Senior Associates

The Federal Service Line of Alvarez & Marsal Taxand is seeking Senior Associates for its Research Credit and Incentive Services (RCIS) team.

Our professionals assist large corporations with complex tax incentives across a wide range of industries including aerospace and defense, food products, manufacturing, life sciences / pharmaceutical products, and software. The team’s research credit and incentive services include: research and experimentation tax incentive studies, assistance with IRC Section 199 – Domestic Production Activities Deduction, fixed asset and cost capitalization studies, accounting method reviews and meals and entertainment (M&E) expense studies.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop and maintain client relationships;
• Participate in large-scale client engagements, from client interviews, information gathering and documentation, to the creation of the project deliverable;
• Review and manage the work of Associates on each assigned project;
• Supervise and mentor staff members.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (required), master’s degree (preferred);
• Experience with the research and development tax credit and other tax incentive projects;
• Strong technical tax background as a result of 2+ years experience;
• Excellent writing, analytical, research and organizational skills;
• Strong market and client focus;
• Knowledge of accounting and financial reporting;
• Strong sense of personal motivation, as well as the ability to work with a team;
• Frequent overnight travel required.
