Opportunities: Tax Operations Group - Associates and Senior Associates

The Tax Operations Group of Alvarez & Marsal Taxand is seeking Associates and Senior Associates for its team.

The Tax Operations Group works with tax departments to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their operations. Senior Associates and Associates will join a select team of FAS109 and technology specialists. These specialists are responsible for the implementation of third-party provision technology platforms and process redesign. In addition, successful candidates will have the opportunity to become familiar with a broad scope of provision technology platforms available on the market, and will develop subject matter expertise in the functionality of these tools.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with tax compliance and provision process mapping, including evaluating client resources, responsibilities, roles and skill sets;
  • Assist with the development of work programs; and
  • Implement client process and software solutions.

Qualifications

We are seeking candidates with strong tax functional knowledge and demonstrated ability to apply those principles within technology. Candidates should meet the following minimum requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in business, accounting or technology;
  • 1 - 4 years of related work experience in tax process improvement, FAS109 and/or tax compliance;
  • Experience with tax software products such as CORPTax, TaxStream and InSource;
  • Ability to travel approximately 50 percent of the time; and
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Additional consideration will be given to those candidates who possess:

  • Experience with financial applications (e.g., Hyperion, SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, etc.), a plus but not required;
  • Master’s degree in accounting, IT or tax;
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation;
  • A high degree of creativity; and
  • Big Four experience.
