Having experienced significant growth in recent years, Brink’s Home Security, Inc., a subsidiary of Brink’s International with annual revenues near $400 million, sought to identify opportunities for process transformation and bottom-up cost reductions. The company also had an eye toward improving back-office performance and its overall cost model. Brink’s called on Alvarez & Marsal’s Business Consulting Group to help diagnose and identify such opportunities. After completing a comprehensive four-week process review, Alvarez & Marsal developed a business case that identified more than 50% annual cost savings in receivables and collections processing, and introduced an “end to end” order to cash ownership model and performance management framework. Working with the Chief Financial Officer and senior management, Alvarez & Marsal embarked on a 15-week change management journey to realize the cost savings identified in the diagnostic phase. This included redesigning the accounts receivable processes, collections management, customer interaction model and field operations management. |
