When management of a large tax-exempt holder of student loans wanted to institute an infrastructure to continue to grow, they turned to Alvarez & Marsal’s Business Consulting Group to evaluate their strategies and processes. While the organization had experienced great successes in recent years growing assets to over $9 billion, its business, operational and personnel infrastructures lacked the rigor to support its existing and future growth plans. Working with the founder and Chief Executive Officer, as well as senior management of Brazos, Alvarez & Marsal successfully developed an organizational design to maximize effectiveness and efficiency, established various board of director governance practices to ensure compliance and oversight, and created a leadership development and succession program to ensure the future viability and continuity of key management. In addition, the team designed executive and workforce performance and reward strategies as well as programs to ensure accountability and focus on key business objectives. Alvarez & Marsal also assessed supply chain effectiveness and efficiency to ensure expense minimization.
